Cheviot Road Pedestrian Improvements

The project is for the design and construction of a walkway and pedestrian crossing improvements along Cheviot Road.
This work allows the City to move ahead immediately with building a walkway, while still planning for the future and further pedestrian improvements and utility infrastructure upgrades on Cheviot Road. 

The project is located along Cheviot Road, from Petersen Road to Westmore Road.

Road closures and detours may be required to accommodate project work. A traffic management plan will be distributed to the local neighbourhood and Ripple Rock School, and the City will advise residents of disruptions.

Work will begin in early July and continue to August 30, 2024.  

A cost estimate will be available at the end of the design stage. This project is being funded by Capital Reserves.

The City is working with engineering consultants, MPE Engineering Ltd. on the design phase. The City will engage in a tender process if necessary for the construction of this project.

Construction has begun and will be completed in three segments:

1. Westmore Road to Northmore Road
2. Northmore Road to 1790 Cheviot Road
3. 1790 Cheviot Road to Petersen Road

RFP 23-39 awarded to MPE Engineering Ltd.. MPE has begun  working on a preliminary design for the project on behalf of the City.
