The Parks Department is responsible for the day-to-day management of parks, sports fields, trails, public open spaces and cemetery operations.
The department is also responsible for parks and green space planning, the implementation of the Strategic Parks Plan, implementation of Parks Parcel Tax projects as approved by City Council, Communities in Bloom participation and ongoing consultation with various community members, groups and committees regarding matters relating to parks.
The City is committed to providing accessibility in our parks. A Parks Accessibility Audit was conducted in select Campbell River Parks in 2008 by Dave Calver, Accessibility Consultant, who provided some valuable insight into the types of issues which need to be addressed in the Parks system. more...

Many parks projects were identified in our Parks Strategic Plan (2012) which lists priorities for investment in parks, sports fields and trail systems for the next ten to twenty years.
