The Accessible BC Act and Regulation requires public sector organizations to establish an accessibility committee, develop an accessibility plan, and build a tool to receive feedback on their accessibility committee and plan. The City is collaborating with the Strathcona Regional District (SRD) to meet the legislative requirements at a regional capacity and support the removal of barriers to accessibility in Campbell River and beyond.
Accessibility and Inclusion Advisory Committee
The SRD, with support and membership from the City, has developed a Strathcona Accessibility and Inclusion Advisory Committee (committee). The inaugural committee meeting was held October 5, 2023 and minutes will be posted to the website.All public information related to the Strathcona Regional Accessibility Committee, accessibility plan, and/or to provide feedback, can be found at srd.ca/accessibility.
