The City of Campbell River (the City) will be replacing the aging traffic lights at South Alder Street and Hilchey Road with all new components. When the project is complete, there will be a new left turn arrow for southbound traffic on Alder Street.

Construction began Monday, February 24, 2025. The first round of construction will last approximately three weeks. Construction work will occur weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Minor traffic delays are expected during the majority of this work.

As part of this project, there will also be a full road closure on Hilchey Road, between South Alder Street and Palmer Road, from Wednesday, February 26, to Friday, February 28, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure is to facilitate underground work at the traffic signal at South Alder Street and Hilchey Road.
