CR LIVE STREETS PRESENTS MUSIC IN THE NIGHT ON AUGUST 28

Join the City of Campbell River (the City) downtown on Shoppers Row for Music in the Night this coming Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Let’s celebrate the finale of the 2024 CR Live Streets event series together, with Five Alarm Funk (FAF) and opening act Tongue & Groove. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a free bike valet during the event and free fares on transit service beginning at 5 p.m. until the last trip. This is a free, licensed event. Facebook event: www.facebook.com/events/789578556697241/.

With 20 years of experience, in high voltage Funk infusion, FAF has carved a new path of live entertainment. The engagement, the hilarity, the precision and execution have heralded these manic Funk Bots with eight studio albums, two JUNO nominations, three Western Canadian Music Awards and a rap sheet of positive reviews.

Based on Quadra Island, Tongue & Groove brings together five skilled musicians whose diverse backgrounds, ranging from musical theatre to heavy metal, mesh seamlessly to deliver their signature high-powered performances. Their mission is to get you on your feet with their own special twist on your favourite dance tunes! Featuring Chris Carmen (vocals and electric guitar), Kate Alexandra (vocals and trombone), Dave Tolley (drums), Nick Richardson (bass) and Zephyr Polk (keyboard).

With CR Live Streets, Shoppers Row becomes a destination for art, dance, music, food, and community throughout the summer. All CR Live Street events are free, family-friendly and open to all. CR Live Streets is an award-winning event series that’s put on by the City in partnership with the Tidemark Theatre and Highway 19 Concerts. We also gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.

The 2024 CR Live Streets event series is wrapping up for another season, but more great events and activities are still in store. Visit the online community calendar at campbellriver.ca/events and follow the City’s Recreation and Culture Department at facebook.com/Campbellriverrec to stay up-to-date with the City’s recreation events.
