CR LIVE STREETS PRESENTS BLUES NIGHT ON JULY 24

Join the City of Campbell River (the City) downtown on Shoppers Row for Blues Night this coming Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Groove to the electrifying sounds of the talented Garret T. Willie and opening act Luke Blu Guthrie at this free, licensed event. Blues Night kicks off the City’s 2024 CR Live Streets summer event series. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a free bike valet during the event and free fares on transit service beginning at 5 p.m. until the last trip. This is a night out that you don’t want to miss! View the Facebook event at facebook.com/events/1151589106139489/.

Hailing from Kingcome Inlet, off the coast of British Columbia, Garret T. Willie is an old soul masquerading as an uncommonly wise, weathered, witty and world-weary 23-year-old. He's about to give rock 'n' roll a formidable 21st -century kick with plenty of wild, heartbreaking, and hilarious stories to share in true rock 'n' roll form.

Luke Blu Guthrie is an independent rhythm and blues artist born and raised on Vancouver Island. An alternative roots style is his foundation for an array of acoustic and electric guitars that support soulful vocals, a unique foot percussion rig and sounds derived from his own colourful southern ancestry.

CR Live Streets is an award-winning event series that’s put on by the City in partnership with the Tidemark Theatre and Highway 19 Concerts. We also gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.

Music lovers are in for another treat this summer, as Blues Night is also the first event in Campbell River’s new CR Jazz and Blues Festival. The festival is presented by Highway 19 Concert Series, with support from the City and others. Visit highway19.ca for CR Jazz and Blues Festival details.

Plan your summer of fun today! CR Live Streets information is available online in the community calendar at campbellriver.ca/events and at City facilities.  Follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/Campbellriverrec to stay up to date with the City's recreation events.

With the beginning of CR Live Streets, the River Concerts series will move to Friday nights beginning on July 26, 2024.
