At approximately 11:55 a.m. on June 7, 2024, the City of Campbell River Fire Department attended a multiple structure fire on Twillingate Road. The residences were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Twillingate Road was closed to vehicle traffic in the interest of public safety, and to allow access for emergency services personnel. The scene is now secure, and the road is re-opened to the public.
“Crews worked diligently to manage this complex fire that affected hydro lines in the area,” says Acting Fire Chief, Stephanie Bremer. “Thank you to the incredible work of the firefighters that responded, to the other agencies that supported, and to the public for staying away.”
Mutual aid support was provided by the Oyster River Fire Department, and the RCMP and Bylaw helped secure the area from traffic.
