    AWARD-WINNING CR LIVE STREETS SUMMER EVENT SERIES IS BACK

    Seven live music and arts events will feature in this year’s lineup throughout July and August.

    The City of Campbell River’s 2023 CR Live Streets events launch on Wednesday, July 19! Every Wednesday, from July 19 to August 30, 2023, there will be a free live music, art, or entertainment event downtown on Shoppers Row. CR Live Streets is an award-winning series that draws thousands to Campbell River’s downtown core throughout the summer season.

    “The award-winning CR live Streets event series brings the community together in the downtown core and livens up the City throughout the summer,” says Mayor Kermit Dahl. “Thousands are drawn to the heart of the community and spend time at local businesses and enjoying the incredible public spaces we offer. I encourage everyone to come along and experience the downtown lit up with laughter, music, and dancing.”

    Here is this year’s lineup:

    • July 19:Rockin’ River Country Night - 6:30 p.m.

      Boondock headline the Rockin’ River Country Night, and opening act Sunburst Town will open the evening entertainment. ‘Step In Line’ Dancers will be on deck to demonstrate so the crowd can join in with some line-dancing steps.     • July 26:Comedy Night - 6:30 p.m.

      Come and laugh with us! A live stand-up comedy event is coming to Campbell River, and everyone is invited. Victoria-based comedian Dan Duvall, standup comedian, writer, and sketch performer Katie Ellen Humphries, and Elyott Ryan, one of the fastest up-and-coming comics in BC, will feature.     • August 2:Masquerade Street Party - 6:30 p.m.

      Inspired by New Orleans’ famous Mardi Gras celebrations, this event is about music, parades, and excitement. The energy will be electric with music by Big Easy Funk, jugglers, stilt walkers and more. Wear a costume to join the parade! This is a licensed event.     • August 9:Art Attack on the Row - 5:30 p.m.

      Let’s come together, learn about graffiti art, and work with local and Indigenous artists at Art Attack on the Row. There’ll also be games, activities, food trucks and a bouncearama! This is a family-oriented event. Facebook Event: Art Attack on the Row - CR Live Streets | Facebook

    • August 16:Salsa and Latin Night - 6:30 p.m.

      Dance all evening to Latin beats with the band, Mazacote. The Forbidden Dance Company will be on site, sharing and teaching salsa steps with the crowd. No dance partner is needed. This is a licensed event. Facebook Event: Salsa and Latin Night - CR Live Streets | Facebook

    • August 23:Art Battle - 6:30 p.m.

      Join us for an inspiring night of creativity and community. Watch in awe as painters battle the clock, and each other, to transform blank canvases into masterful artwork in just 20 minutes, and then vote to determine the champion of the night!     • August 30: Music in the Night – CR Live Streets Finale - 6:30 p.m.
      Current Swell, Vancouver Island’s own high-spirited Indie Rock Band, will close out this year’s incredible CR Live Streets event series. As a band built to play live, Current Swell is renowned for throwing down relentlessly and performing like few others can. Opening the night is Kristi Lane Sinclair. This is a licensed event.     “The line-up for this year’s CR Live Streets event series is incredible, there truly is something for everyone,” says Robin Mitchell, Manager of Recreation and Culture. “Kicking off with country music, learning about Indigenous and local arts and artists, and not to mention Current Swell who will be in Campbell River on August 30, are just part of the summer 2023 schedule. Thanks to everyone who came out last year, we hope to see you again, with your friends and neighbours, at this year’s events!”

    The Spirit Square concert series and Campbell River Farmers Market continue all summer long. Join us downtown as we celebrate our community with music, friends, and neighbours.
