Weight room and sports courts remain temporarily closed due to supply chain issues.

The City is excited to share that the Sportsplex will reopen for use on Monday, October 31, 2022. Staff will once again be offering a slate of fitness classes, programming and rentals for the whole community to enjoy.

Due to supply chain issues, there is a delay in completing repairs to the weight room and sports courts. These areas will be closed until further notice, but we hope to have them open to the public by the end of November. The weight room in the Community Centre will close on Sunday, October 23, 2022. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to opening the Sportsplex weight room soon.

“Welcome back,” says Robin Mitchell, Recreation & Culture Manager. “To say a great big thank you for your patience during the temporary Sportsplex closure, all programs and services will be free for opening day, October 31. The day will end with a fireworks display brought to the community by the Willow Point Firefighters Association, so stop by the Sportsplex and enjoy!”

November marks the start of our fall events season and kicks off with the Fall Home Expo at the Sportsplex from Friday, November 4, to Sunday, November 6, 2022. The River City Christmas Craft Market will take place at the Community Centre that same weekend, from Saturday, November 5, to Sunday, November 6, 2022.

The Fall 2022 Recreation guide, with information on all fall programs and events, will be available online from October 14, and registration opens on October 21, 2022.
