    City of Campbell River 2022 economic update offers insight into local economy.

    The City of Campbell River’s recently released Economic Update report presents a variety of economic indicators that provide a snapshot of Campbell River’s economy and help clarify the impact of ongoing economic turbulence. The City will continue monitoring these and other indicators to track Campbell River’s economy and will release updates in future reports.

    Economic indicators are grouped into the following categories within the report:

    • Population Growth
    • Development
    • Housing and Real Estate
    • Employment
    • Travel and Tourism

    The report also contains information about some of the economic programs recently offered by the City, including the launch of the Modern Entrepreneur at the 50th Parallel Podcast and the Modern Entrepreneur Speaker Series focused on workforce development. The City is also proud to be a regional partner supporting the pilot of a new Circular Economy Accelerator Program run by Vancouver Island Coast Economic Developers Association and Synergy Foundation.

    “Economic indicators provide insights into the state of the economy at a given time and, over time, can also help identify trends and patterns,” says Rose Klukas, Economic Development Manager. “This report brings local context to economic trends and developments and includes useful information for navigating the economic landscape.
