On November 5th, 2020, the Campbell River RCMP announced they have been inundated in the last few days with calls regarding a revamped Canada Revenue Scam.
Quite simply, we know it's out there, but the local detachments do not have the ability to control overseas scam artists unfortunately,
said Cst Maury Tyre.
The latest rendition of the scam shows the number calling people as The City of Campbell River and when they answer a robo recording tells them that they are under investigation and to speak to an agent press a number.
