Sewermain Replacement Project 2022

Work under this contract consists of the rehabilitation of approximately 3500 lineal metres of existing sanitary sewer mains installing Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) lining via trenchless technology. The work is being delivered in segments by working from manhole to manhole.

Rehabilitation work will begin in the Summer of 2022 and is expected to be completed by Fall 2022.

The final cost of the project is $978,000.00.

The budget has been approved in the 2022 Capital Plan and is funded by the sewer reserve.

The work is being completed under a design-bid-built model. Design has been completed by the City’s Capital Works and Liquid Waste Services Departments. RFP 19-14 was approved by City Council and awarded to Insituform Technologies Ltd.

Traffic management during construction will be the responsibility of the contractor doing the work. The contractor will have traffic control in place ensuring safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians around the work zone at all times.

Your sewer service connection to the sewer mainline will have to be temporarily closed off during the installation. We need your cooperation to avoid back up of the sewer water into your residence or business by preventing water from entering the sewer through any drains during the specified time period. As a result, it is imperative that you do not perform the following household activities.

Please: avoid washing clothes, dishes, do not take showers or baths, close toilet lids, do not flush toilets or operate sump pumps connected to the sewer system. Please call Brittany at Insituform 1-780-982-4718 if you have any concerns while the work is taking place.

NIGHTIME SEWER UPGRADESON ST. ANN'S ROAD

City of Campbell River crews are completing sewer system upgrades on St. Ann’s Road and Alder Street, between 9th Avenue and Shoppers Row, from October 24 to 28, 2022, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Lane closures are expected, and traffic control personnel and signs will direct traffic. Work will be completed at night to minimize traffic disruption and impacts on local businesses and to take advantage of lower sewer flows.

Notice of Night Work

PARTIAL ROAD CLOSURE ON DOGWOOD STREET ON OCTOBER 14, 2022

Crews are completing sewer repairs at the intersection of Dogwood Street and 9th Avenue on Friday, October 14, 2022, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Lane closures are expected and the intersection will be controlled by traffic control personnel. Signs will be in place to assist traffic flow. Please respect all traffic signs in place.

Construction work has begun. Target completion date is October 31, 2022.

The City is completing repairs at various locations in the City between now and October 31, 2022. Minor traffic delays may occur as crews close or narrow lanes to complete the work. Locations include Dogwood Street from 2nd to 9th Avenue and Alder Street from 7th Avenue to Shoppers Row. Limited overnight street parking will be available in some areas to allow crews and equipment to access manholes. Please respect all traffic signs in place including 'no parking' areas.
