BECOME A PAID-ON-CALL FIREFIGHTER - NEWS RELEASE - JANUARY 2023

Are you looking for new ways to support your community in 2023? Are you a responsible, accountable team player? The City of Campbell River Fire Department is accepting applications for the 2023 Paid-on-Call Firefighter Training Program and wants you to consider applying today! Successful applicants will assist in combatting and preventing fires and supporting community initiatives.
A free-to-attend paid-on-call firefighter information session will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 2 of the Sportsplex, located at 1800 South Alder Street.
The information session will provide an overview of the paid-on-call firefighter recruitment process, training program, time commitments and expectations, services provided by the fire department, and an overview of this exciting, service-oriented career.
“Paid-on-call firefighters are essential members of the City of Campbell River Fire Department. Those that serve are part of a diverse team that faces and overcomes challenges to support the community,” says Dan Verdun, City of Campbell River Fire Chief. “We welcome and encourage anyone interested in becoming a paid-on-call firefighter to join us for the information session on January 12 to learn more about the role and connect with some incredible members already serving.”
