REBATE TOP-UPS FOR HEAT PUMPS EXTENDED UNTIL MARCH 31, 2025

REBATE TOP-UPS FOR HEAT PUMPS EXTENDED UNTIL MARCH 31, 2025

The City is extending its partnership with the Province for the Rebate Top-Up for Heat Pumps, offering a $350 top-up to the CleanBC Better Homes rebate for electric air source heat pumps until March 31, 2025.

Heat pumps are the most energy-efficient, climate-friendly heating systems available in B.C., provide heating and cooling without the need to purchase and maintain a separate air conditioning system. This program will allow more Campbell River homeowners to benefit from municipal rebate top-ups when they switch from a fossil fuel (oil, natural gas, or propane) heating system to an electric air source heat pump.

The City’s top-up program has been in place since July 2022. The City is providing $15,000 in funding towards this year’s program from the Climate Action Reserve Fund. Rebates will be approved on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Campbell River heat pump top-up program is managed by the Province of BC and administered by BC Hydro. For information on eligibility requirements, and to apply, visit the Province’s website betterhomesbc.ca/rebates/campbell-river-heat-pump-top-up, call the free CleanBC Energy Coach hotline at 1-844-881-9790, or email ask@betterhomesbc.ca.
