The project will see upgrades extended along a 1km stretch of Highway 19A, from Big Rock Boat Ramp to Rockland Road – both improving services and the beautification of our city’s waterfront. The work includes significant improvements both above- and under- ground, including the reconstruction of sewer and water mains, installation of storm drains, a widened roadway, curb and gutter, sidewalk, seawalk, streetlights, enhanced park spaces, and installation of underground electrical utilities.

TRAFFIC NOTICE: July 16, 2021 - Please be advised that paving will be underway on Highway 19A, between Simms Creek and Big Rock Boat Ramp, the week of July 19-23. Drivers should expect significant delays in the area as single-lane alternating traffic is in effect – and are encouraged to use alternative routes during this time.
Rockland Road will remain closed until paving of the Highway is completed.
