Campbell River has a lot of cool businesses!

by Economic Development | Nov 16, 2018

Some are forefront in people’s minds and others are hidden gems. In 2016, we began writing newsletters to showcase Campbell River businesses and opportunities here in the city. You can find all past and current editions of “In the Spotlight” here.

For example, in August 2017 we featured 4, independently owned local businesses that not only produce fantastic (and very tasty) products, but have learned that collaboration over competition can take a business to a whole new level. You can learn more about The Island Grind, Daves’ Bakery, Stonehouse Teas and Beach Fire Brewing & Nosh House here.

Once you’re done indulging in a treat from one of these businesses, you may want to consider the services offered by Active Living Physiotherapy. Active Living prides itself on offering a client-centric experience alongside evidence-based treatments using the latest technological assessment tools. Specialized services include:

  • Video running gait analysis - helping runners to identify improvements in their personal running style and avoid injury and strain
  • GLA:D Canada Osteoarthritis exercise program - a 7-week program for those suffering from stiff knees or hips, teaching techniques to reduce symptoms and improve movement

You can learn more about Active Living Physiotherapy, FYidoctors, Fresh Dental and more here.

This month’s “In the Spotlight” features a couple of new businesses. Dockside Fish and Chips, under new ownership, and Campbell River’s new coworking space.

What is a coworking space?

Coworking spaces are essentially shared workspaces. They offer affordable office space for those looking to escape the isolation of a home office or the distraction of a coffee shop. They offer a spot for freelancers, entrepreneurs or start-ups to take advantage of flexible space. The advantage is working in an affordable, environment with other people, many of whom could become collaborators or clients.

We are thrilled that Campbell River Coworking has opened its doors.  Learn more here
