The City of Campbell River selected the consulting team of PFS Studio, Public Architecture, and Coriolis Consultants Inc. to facilitate a downtown waterfront design charrette in December 2013 for the 9.5 acre undeveloped area south of the Target store.

The purpose was to refine the direction outlined in the Official Community Plan for these key downtown lands. The series of charrette events were well attended by key stakeholders and general public.

The product of the charrette was the development of an integrated series of 18 core urban design “principles” that can be used as a template to inform discussion regarding potential streetscape and public realm improvements on and around this significant waterfront site.
