Handle with Care!

Before you cut vegetation, trim trees or undertake any activity on a steep slope check with the Develpment Services staff to ensure your actions do not destabilize the slope and cause a dangerous situation. You can also call us at 250-286-5726.

Eagle nest trees and perch trees are protected.

Clearing trees and vegetation is strictly controlled around an identified eagle tree.
Before you start work around eagle trees, come to City Hall and speak with Development Services staff.

It's illegal to burn garbage in your fireplace, or outside.

It also smells bad, bothers neighbours, pollutes the air and creates a safety hazard by coating the inside of your chimney.

Control water from your property to protect yourself - and your neighbour.

Make sure gutters and any surface water flow into your garden or the storm sewer
- not onto your neighbour's property or out onto the street.

A home-based business must be located in your house, not in a shed or detached garage.

For more information about regulations designed to reduce impact on neighbours, come into City Hall and speak with Development Services.

Please call 250-286-5726 for more information.
