How did we get here?

In spring 2016, the City of Campbell River embarked on a process to develop masterplans for Nunns Creek and Frank James Park. In June 2016, we held the first public event and questionnaire for the masterplans. More than 50 people participated in an Ideas Workshop and more than 150 people completed a questionnaire. Thank you to everyone who provided input! Click here to read a summary of the information received.

Frank James Park Initial Concepts

Based on the input received, along with background analysis and review of precedents, two initial concepts have been developed for Frank James Park. At the May 10 Public Open House, these concepts will be tabled for community review and feedback – what participants like best and least about each concept, and additional ideas for consideration. This feedback will be used to form a consolidated, preferred concept for the draft Frank James Park Masterplan, which is anticipated to be brought forward for public review in June 2017.

What’s Happening with Nunns Creek Park?

Based on the input from Public Event #1, it has been identified that understanding subsurface conditions at Nunns Creek Park will be important to the concept options that could be considered. To better understand these conditions, the City is undertaking a geotechnical investigation of the park. To allow the time needed to complete this investigation, the process for the Nunns Creek Masterplan has been slowed. All the input received on Nunns Creek Park to date will be used when the masterplanning process resumes.
