Are the Modern Entrepreneur Workshops Worth My Time?

by Economic Development | Nov 15, 2018

Running a business is full-time work. Ok, it’s more than full-time. Between paying bills, tracking sales, providing customer service, and hiring staff, you barely have enough time for yourself, let alone time for business planning and professional development!

You want to brush up on business basics, learn about the latest business trends and make new connections. We know that you can’t leave your business to travel to a seminar in Vancouver or even just elsewhere on the Island. That’s why we created the Modern Entrepreneur Series. High caliber, 90 minute workshops offered here in Campbell River for $20 or less.

Keeping the workshops short and affordable hasn’t limited the opportunity for learning and networking. We’ve been fortunate to attract top talent speakers – like Keith Ippel from Spring, Crystal Henrickson from Talent Collective, and David Van Seters from Wayblaze – experienced at leading dynamic group discussions and hands-on learning so that you get the most out of your time with us.

We’ve covered topics like: strengthening your online presence, crafting a compelling business pitch, dealing with negative feedback, attracting and retaining talent, and using community crowdfunding for business. Regardless of which workshops you attend, there will always be fantastic takeaways.

Aside from meeting our fabulous speakers and gaining from their knowledge, a significant benefit to participating in a workshop is getting to meet other Campbell River business owners. Many attendees have noted how willing other entrepreneurs are to share their experiences, which made them realize how critical it is to continue connecting with people and to ask for help when you need it – namely, by attending these workshops! Learning from each other is priceless.

Attending the Modern Entrepreneur workshops is a great investment in yourself and your staff with minimal cost and time commitment. $20 and 90 minutes of your time to brush up on your skills, learn from industry experts and your peers, and make new connections. All without leaving our stunning city.

To keep up-to-date on all of our events, make sure you follow our Facebook page. We’ve got some exciting content coming up in the fall, including two workshops on sales in September.
